Q. Why did you choose Allely Estate as your venue?

The venue’s gardens captured our attention, and they also saved us money decorating as the gardens are decorated enough. Athina was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. Honestly, the venue was just perfect for us to have a stunning outdoor ceremony, scenic cocktail hour under the tree, and then an intimate elegant reception in the villa. Having a gorgeous room at Allely meant that our bridal party could get ready at the venue.

Q. Did you have a theme or vibe?

We wanted the stunning gardens and amazing villa to speak for themselves so we had a simplistic forest theme. And our table names were all places from the Lord of the Rings. Pale yellow and purple flowers matched the lavender bridesmaid dresses.

Q. Tell us about your favorite moment

There were far too many special moments – we both thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the incredible day!

Q. Did you incorporate any tradition?

Yes, the bride wore something old, new, borrowed & blue! Some lace from my mother’s old wedding dress was sewn into the underside of the skirt, along with a blue ribbon. I borrowed my grandmother’s pearl necklace from my mother, and the dress itself was new.

Q. What special touches were important to you?

The wonderful surprise was that the wedding dress had some of my mother’s wedding dress sewn into the skirt with a blue ribbon that had our wedding date and our names. Also, it was so special that the bride, groom and all six of the bridesmaids helped with the hand sewing of the dress. Also, as Christians, it was very touching that our first meal as a married couple was communion. And two bridesmaids surprised everyone with a heartwarming song they wrote for us.

Q. What was your best decision about the wedding?

Not having it early in the day when the sun would’ve been hotter, and to not worry about Covid but leave the wedding in Athina’s capable hands.

Q. Advice for other couples?

Be prepared for things not to go exactly as planned – just go with the flow and enjoy the day as it flies by so fast. In our case, the bride & bridesmaids got lost getting to the photography location, but instead captured some beautiful snaps at Allely and it was a blessing in disguise as they turned out far better than we’d hoped for.
