Q. Why did you choose Allely Estate as your venue?
It had everything we were looking for – it was a private & intimate venue without other members of the public being able to see/ watch unlike some other vineyards we saw. It has beautiful gardens, an on-site bar and kitchen, the marquee and Muriwai is just a short drive away to get additional photos taken at the beach and forest.

Rustic.
Q. Tell us about your favourite moment
Being able to share such a beautiful & special day with our friends and family.
Q. What special touches were important to you?
We had Mike’s Nana as our Flower Nana and our sweet nephew as our page boy. We incorporated proteas into my bouquet and in our floral arrangements – it’s the national flower of South Africa (where I’m from) so it was nice to have a little touch of home with me on my big day.
Q. What was your best decision about the wedding?
Saying “I do” 😉 And having a bar tab and a band! Our guests had the best time!
Q. Advice for other couples?
- Don’t let other people’s opinions affect your decisions about something relating to the wedding. It’s your wedding and your day so have it your way! You can’t please everyone.
- Have a picture in your mind of what you want but don’t get fixated if things don’t come out an exact way. Find vendors that match what you want/ your style, tell them your vision and then let them go off and do their job without micromanaging them. Way less stress for everyone! 🙂
- Take a moment on the day with your new husband/ wife to take a second and look back at your guests having an amazing time at your wedding!
