What song did you walk up the aisle to? ‘Beautiful in White’ by Shane Filan
Q. Why did you choose Allely Estate as your venue?
I loved the garden feel of the location. I had seen pictures of how the marquee looked styled up and was in awe – I loved the elegance of it with its chandeliers and white draping. The food sounded delicious. There were lots of options for the ceremony location. They had a getting-ready room on site. Both Athina and Shelly were always so engaging and just made the planning really easy. The venue ticked a lot of boxes and was simply beautiful.
Q. What special touches were important to you?
The flowers were important to me. The bouquets, the centerpieces and having white rose petals for my ceremony runway. I wanted white roses with a hint of subtle blush and peachy tones.
Q. Did you have a theme or vibe?
A White Romantic Elegant Garden feel was what I was after. I loved the look of the contrast of the white and the green from nature.
Q. What was your best decision about the wedding?
Aside from my dress, it would be doing the first look and taking photos before the ceremony. I felt it was a better use of the limited time we had.
Q. Tell us about your favorite moment
When it was time to put on my beautiful wedding dress. Such a great feeling when you finally get to get into your dress that you’ve fantasized about since the day you said yes to the dress. Then being able to finally walk through the venue to the groom for the first look.
Q. Advice for other couples?
To really try and enjoy every second, every minute and every hour of the big day – you spent many months planning it so you better make sure you enjoy it! Your timing sheet will never go as planned so be prepared to go with the flow or hire a good wedding coordinator to run the show so you don’t have to stress about it. Really think about and prioritize what formalities are truly important to you when planning your wedding. Don’t get caught up with what everyone else expects you to do for a wedding: you do you. Same goes for who you invite. Invite those who you really want there and who have been a part of your lives; don’t be afraid to say no. Remember, this is YOUR wedding, after all!
