Q. Why did you choose Allely Estate as your Wedding venue?
What I loved about Allely Estate is that it’s fuss-free, they take care of everything on the day so that you and your family can sit back and enjoy the day. Beautiful grounds and reception venue outside.
Q. Did you have a theme or vibe?
Classic white with touches of culture.
Q. Did you incorporate any tradition?
I am Maori and Noni is Tongan. At our ceremony my elder boys performed a “wero” which is traditionally a challenge. This paid homage to my older boys handing over their mum to my now husband. At the reception Noni’s niece performed a Tau’olunga which is traditional dance and our boys and 2 nephews also performed a Tongan item together.
Q. What special touches were important to you?
Acknowledging our parents, grandparents and joining of 2 cultures and including our children at different points of the wedding.
Q. How did you both meet? What is your personal 'love story'?
We met 7 years ago, through mutual friends and both playing rugby league for the same club. Both with children from previously relationships, it wasn’t easy to begin with blending a family with 5 boys between us. Now we have 1 (another boy) together and couldn’t be happier.
Q. Tell us about your favourite wedding moment?
Having all our family together.
Q. What was your best decision about the wedding?
Having it at Allely Estate obviously, Athina and her staff run a tight ship lol because of that the wedding was seamless. Good was amazing and we all had a great time.
